One-Day Workshop on “Yoga and Naturopathy Intervention in the Management of Obesity"

A One-Day Workshop on “Yoga and Naturopathy Intervention in the Management of Obesity” was successfully organized at the Mini Auditorium, Administrative Building, University of Patanjali, Haridwar. The workshop aimed to create awareness about the increasing prevalence of obesity and the role of yoga and naturopathy in its effective prevention and management.

The program began with the blessings of Pujya Swami Paramarthdevji, who highlighted the importance of yogic practices, natural lifestyle, and disciplined living in preventing lifestylerelated disorders such as obesity. His inspiring words encouraged participants to adopt a holistic approach to health.

The Guest Speaker, Dr. Shweta Mishra, AYUSH Medical Officer, AIIMS Rishikesh, delivered an informative and engaging lecture on the growing concern of obesity in modern society. She explained how yoga practices, naturopathy therapies, proper diet, and lifestyle modifications can play a significant role in managing obesity and improving overall health.

Dr. Anil Verma, Director, Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of awareness programs and academic initiatives in promoting preventive healthcare through yoga and naturopathy.

During the workshop, Dr. Shweta Mishra was felicitated as a token of appreciation for her valuable contribution and for sharing her knowledge with the participants.

An enlightening session on “Awareness of Obesity and Home Routine” was delivered by Dr. Kanak Soni, HOD & Associate Professor, who explained practical home routines, dietary discipline, and simple yoga practices that individuals can incorporate into their daily lives to manage obesity effectively.

The event was smoothly hosted by Dr. Sangeeta Singh, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, who conducted the program with great coordination.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Toran Singh, Dean, Faculty of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Haridwar, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, guest speaker, faculty members, and participants for making the workshop a meaningful and successful event.

The workshop was conducted in the presence of Proctor & Dean of Humanities Dr. Sadhvi Devpriya, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mayank Agarwal, Registrar Dr. D.K.
